Day 6: January Mindful Writing Challenge

Leafs work tirelessly turning light to energy and sucking out noxious gas to exhale oxygen. Deep roots sink ever further and drink heavily on rainwaters. Then wind howls through branches pulling them this way and twisting them back. Twigs tumble down. Tiles topple from roof tops. Fences fall, opening gardens to public view. Umbrellas upend as gusts rip them out of hand. But the tree remains. She bends. She sways. But her strength lies in her ability to yield. Denuded of her foliage by winter, her lean figure stands proud in sleep against the darkest of skies and shallowest of suns. Even now she grows tall.
