Day 11: January Mindful Writing Challenge

Little hand rests in mine. It feels warm on a cold afternoon. I walk easily along. He runs and jumps to keep up. We head for the station. A walk, a train journey, maybe a shoulder carry. Perhaps a sticky bun. He’s just happy to be in my company. And I’m happy to be in his. I feel his warmth in my palm. He loiters here and there. He looks intently at the world around him. Notices things. The world is full of wonder, and magic. In the model shop. Eagerly he runs from display to display. Dream to dream. Each one placing a new layer upon the other. The world is full of possibilities. I want to be there too.
