The Artist

Last week was a bit of a creative frenzy for my little Giraffe. The Saturday before his book launch (see Happy World Book Day), I took him to an art/painting workshop. I wasn’t sure how he’d deal with it, but after listening to an artist, Wolf Howard, talk about his paintings in his joint exhibition Skull Grins Relentless (http://www.visitmedway.org/events/skull-grins-relentless or http://www.goingoninmedway.co.uk/event/the-skull-grins-relentless/) GG went at the painting so naturally it was a joy to watch. He worked solidly for two hours starting off with a charcoal sketch on board and a canvass…

then he finished his creations with acrylic watercolours – most of those he used he mixed himself, experimenting with the colours on his pallet. And these are his finished master pieces!

While these two dried, GG busied himself with further examples of his favourite subject: steam trains. This time in pencil only.

I look forward to more of the same, George!
