Rain. The best excuse not go out. Why bother getting wet going shopping? Can’t that wait till tomorrow? Or meeting those dear friends? Can’t you just phone ‘em? When the light fades and the roof tiles drum, just stay in. When I looked through the window Sunday morning, and the panes rattled with the patter of precipitation, I knew I would be settling down with manuscripts, and working in the warm and dry of my fortress. The kitchen sink developed a third tap to supply coffee, and my biscuits nearer extinction. Yes. Heaven can be found on those dreary days.
