White Noise

Drifting leaves dripping filthy wet,

moss and lichen infested wrangling boughs

with spilling sod about their roots

over raucous rock of countless centuries

take guard above me

scratching out my harmonious calm…

twenty-four hour protection…

something in the way…

just around the corner…

et il dit moi…

twenty-four hour protection for…

s’il vous plait…

only twenty-five pounds a month…

hold me baby…

and it was my job to make them comfortable…

as I pass under sepulchred cremated concrete

running on flimsy tarmac lines

charcoal light floods my boundless sight

and my humming ears hear sweet serenity

with harmonious calm…
