Mist in the Hollows

Mist in the hollows stretched

into cottonwool strands,

a breath still hanging low

over field and meadow

caught in time under naked blue.

My dark road takes me

past your early light

and shadows around you

dreaming of night,

and the bright sight until

your evanescence.

When the sun lifts its youthful eye

you and I

will part again,

you will begin to fade

from view and memory

As my journey continues away.
